Hi, I'm George — I study how supermassive black holes light up in X-rays.

Studying the close environments of supermassive black holes through X-ray eyes.

About

A short introduction

I am an astrophysicist working on the high-energy view of accreting supermassive black holes. Since October 2025 I am a NASA Postdoctoral Fellow at Goddard Space Flight Center, where I develop realistic X-ray models to probe the gas and dust in the immediate surroundings of active galactic nuclei. I completed my PhD in Astrophysics in 2025 at the Instituto de Estudios Astrofísicos, Universidad Diego Portales, in Santiago, Chile, working with Prof. Claudio Ricci. Away from the telescope, I co-host the Greek science & technology podcast Not a Top 10 and carry a camera almost everywhere.
